Holistic Vaginal Care

Your vagina is a self-regulating, self-cleaning, resilient yet delicate ecosystem and the less you disrupt the natural balance, the better off you’ll be.

1. Your vagina is a dynamic system with inherent safeguards in place to maintain a healthy equilibrium despite being susceptible to myriad influences that can alter its state of balance.
After all, the vagina is exposed to fluctuating hormones, the consequences of our modern diet, our stress-filled lives and numerous artificial products that we were not designed to endure.

When, despite your best efforts, the normal balance is disturbed and you get a vaginal infection (vaginitis), knowing how your ecosystem works can give you the power to remedy the situation and restore your environment.

2. A normal vagina is constantly kept moist by its natural discharge. The smell and taste of a healthy vagina is mild, and not unpleasant. It certainly doesn’t smell like fish or have a strong foul odor.
A healthy vagina does not smell or taste bad! In fact, it’s full of pheromones, the chemicals of attraction that we don’t consciously smell.

3. Vaginal fluid mostly comes from the cells lining the walls which act similar to sweat glands, producing moisture from the inner mucus membrane surfaces. Normal vaginal fluid varies in color from clear to white, although when it dries it may appear yellowish.
The amount differs from one woman to another as well as for the same woman at different times, and ranges from scant to moderate. Some women are naturally wetter or drier then others, just as some people have oily skin or dry hair or sweat more or less profusely.
What’s most important is for you to know what’s typical for you in amount, color, texture and odor. The vaginal fluid reflects where you are in your cycle, your age, your sexual arousal, hormonal contraceptive use, even your diet and fluid intake.
For women who are having normal fertility cycles, the shifting pattern should be similar each month.  Most women are driest the week before their period. Girls prior to puberty, breast-feeding moms and post-menopausal woman are drier and less varying.

5. A healthy vagina is full of friendly bacteria, mainly a particular strain of Lactobacillus acidophilus. These good bacteria protect the vagina and keep it healthy in multiple ways. Their job is to control the population of unfriendly microbes such as yeast and ”bad” bacteria.
Next, the acidophilus maintain the proper vaginal environment by producing two important chemicals: lactic acid and hydrogen peroxide, a liquid form of oxygen. The lactic acid maintains an acid-alkaline balance (known as pH) in the vagina that’s acidic.

6. One of the most common causes of a die-off of your normal flora is taking antibiotics, which can kill off your good guys as they do their job of killing off the bad ones that were causing infection elsewhere. Anytime you take antibiotics, you are at risk for yeast overgrowth, which can result in vaginal candida (a yeast infection) and gastro-intestinal problems such as indigestion and diarrhea. This is one of the many reasons to be careful about taking antibiotics and to use them only when you really need them.

7. Normal vaginal discharge also contains a very small amount of natural sugars. The usual minimal level of sugar helps to discourage yeast overgrowth, while an increased level promotes it. The sugar level in the vaginal fluid is increased in diabetics and in pregnancy. Some women are sensitive to a high sugar diet and may find they need to be careful about their intake.

8. Certain forms of contraception can affect the vaginal system, directly or indirectly. Any product that contains Nonoxynol 9, the chemical that’s in all spermicides, can be problematic. Many women are highly sensitive to this chemical and will have inflammation as a result of its use.
Beware of condoms with spermicide, the jelly used with diaphragms and all other types of spermicidal creams and suppositories. It’s best to avoid this irritating sperm-killing chemical in all forms.
Hormonal birth control methods (birth control pills, the depo shot, implants, progesterone-containing IUDs, the Patch, the Ring), all work by tricking your body into thinking that it’s already pregnant and therefore doesn't need to ovulate. So just like in actual pregnancy, there may be slightly higher amounts of natural sugars in your vaginal discharge, hormonal shifts and changes in the pH that may promote vaginal imbalance and infection.

9.  Vaginal Balm  Sexibalm
Coconut oil is also very nourishing and moisturizing to the skin and has great anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties.  Sexibalm also has essential oils, green tea, and probiotics for extra help with rebalancing the vaginal flora.

10.  C-Tox.
This preparation acts as a natural body deodorizer, but also contains moisturizing oils, essential oils, probiotics, and for dryness and skin health: clay.  It can be used in the armpits, bottom of feet, and in the pubic area.  Contributes to reduced odor and improved dryness. The skin is the largest excretory organ of the body, about 18 square feet. The flat, negatively charged clay particles presumably act like a magnet, attracting the positively charged free radicals produced in the body, draws them out and eliminates them.

When minerals in the clay are absorbed through the skin (known as trans-dermal nutrition) debris is pulled from pores, hair follicles are unclogged, and exfoliated skin is removed.  Because of the special blend of natural ingredients, the moist clay mixture is able to flow into tiny pores and, as the clay dries, it shrinks, pulling loose whatever has absorbed it.  In traditional medicine, healing clay was used to draw out of the skin poisons such as spider bites, wasp, bee and ant stings.  The special clay also drew out severe skin irritants such as poison ivy and poison oak.   I find it useful for women who have itching, irritation and raw skin.

Casein Free Shopping and lactose intolerant ideas

A food intolerance can be difficult to diagnose. Honestly I believe that many people are suffering from a food intolerance, but they don’t even realize it and are medicating the symptoms with prescription drugs. Casein is just one of many food ingredients that can cause problems. People can be intolerant to gluten, MSG, corn, shrimp, and caffeine, just to name a few others.

Casein should not be confused with lactose.

Most people who have difficulty digesting milk are lactose intolerant, meaning that they produce too little of the enzyme (lactase) that breaks down milk sugar (lactose) so bacteria flourish in their gut to finish the job.

Milk has a number of components. These include lactose (milk's sugar), up to four varieties of casein and other milk proteins, and fats. The percentage of each of these contained in an ounce of milk varies according to the source of the milk (which animal), where in the milking cycle the milk comes from (lactose-rich foremilk comes out first, followed by fat-rich hindmilk), and how long the individual animal has been lactating this time around. If it comes out of a box, a tin or any other kind of packaging, be sure to read the ingredients. You'd be amazed at the kinds of foods that conceal milk products. For someone with an allergy, even a pinch can be too much, so read carefully.

The following items on any ingredients list are no-nos:

milk solids ("curds")
whey
casein (sodium caseinate, most commonly)
lactose (sodium lactylate, frequently)
lactalbumin and other names that begin with lact

and the obvious:

milk,
butter,
cheese,
yogurt...
Be especially alert when obtaining the following, as milk products creep in:
margarine
hydrolyzed vegetable protein (for the unusually sensitive person) since the processing phase may utilize casein
bread, and breaded (often fried) foods
chewing gum
soy cheeses
"non-dairy" anything, including Cool Whip. Non-dairy does not mean milk-free. It is a term the dairy industry invented to indicate less than 1/2 % milk by weight, which could mean fully as much casein as whole milk!
sour mix, such as what is used to make margaritas, or other artifically "sour" items such as some candies.
vinegar flavored potato chips/crisps. The "vinegar" may actually be a milk-derived ingredient.
whole poultry fresh from the store *may* be infused with lactose to keep it fresher. Check the ingredient list or purchase a kosher bird.
Wine! Casein is one of six substances that may be used to clarify wine. (Egg white is another.) If you call the vintner, ask if casein is used in the "fining process".

Look for products marked "vegan", which should contain no animal products whatsoever.

Ingredient Substitutions

For butter substitute Fleischmann's unsalted margarine, Crisco or soy butter. In baking, you can also substitute lard, which produces excellent baked results.
For melted butter substitute oil or melted margarine.

Herbal Preparation for Stem Cell Retrieval

By definition, a stem cell is characterized by its ability to self-renew and its ability to differentiate along multiple lineage pathways. Ideally, a stem cell for regenerative medicinal applications should meet the following criteria:

Can be found in abundant quantities (millions to billions of cells)

Can be harvested by a minimally invasive procedure

Can be differentiated along multiple cell lineage pathways in a regulatable and reproducible manner.

Green cell therapy increases adult stem cells and stem cell release for optimum health benefits. Green cell therapy helps by getting rid of toxins that block nutritional benefits in your body. Green cell therapy may enable the effective use of nutrients in your body to the greatest degree possible.

Look for this in you green superfood supplement:

Should be made of organic ingredients.
Should be made of wild crafted ingredients.
Should have ingredients from seaweeds.
Should have as many super foods as possible, like kale, horsetail, spinach, nettles, parsley, alfalfa, wheat grass, oat grass, and barley grass to mention just a few.
Should have spirulina and chlorella added (algae).
Should contain probiotics.
Should contain enzymes.
Should contain enzymatically active sprouts.
Should be free from fillers.
Should be free from preservatives.
Should be free from sweeteners.
No GMO products.
Should be fresh freeze-dried or cold-dried.

A Green superfood supplements is also good for Mother Earth.

All the chemicals we use also have a big impact on our nature. Our goal should be to gradually shift to organic products. We find toxic chemicals in so many different products that we use and surround our self by daily, not only in fruit and vegetables. We find chemicals in cosmetics, body care products, kid’s toys and clothing’s, just to mention a few. Change to organically produced products and Mother Earth and your kids will thank you.

Green superfood powders are not a replacement for fruits and vegetables.

Organic green superfood supplements are meant as just that, a supplement, and not as a replacement for fruit and vegetables or other healthy whole foods.

Should you take a vitamin?

The Importance of Alkaline Diet and Nutritional Supplementation

To achieve longevity and maintain optimal health, a normal human body needs intake of over 90 different nutrients daily: 60 minerals, 16 vitamins, 12 amino acids and 3 essential fatty acids. If this natural law is not respected, deficiency syndrome sets in and disease appears.

Do you think you get these nutrients from your diet alone?

There are 147 diseases known by medical science that can be induced, triggered, aggravated or caused by Calcium deficiency only. Insomnia, muscle cramps and twitches, osteoporosis, hypertension, arthritis, Bell’s palsy, kidney stones, lumbago, colorectal cancer, premenstrual syndrome, gingivitis and receding gums are just a few of them.

Do you have any of these conditions?

Bad breath may inform us about Vitamin B3 deficiency; loss of sense of smell and taste and white spots on the nails are often an early sign of Zinc deficiency; Tin deficiency can cause male pattern baldness; menopausal problems are often caused by Boron deficiency; constipation by Magnesium deficiency; dizziness and tinitus by Manganese deficiency; memory loss by vitamin B1 deficiency; menstrual problems by vitamin B6 deficiency; slow healing wounds by vitamin C deficiency; gray hair and skin wrinkles by Cooper deficiency. Ruptured aneurysm, and varicose veins can be caused by Cooper deficiency; Cardiomyopathy and heart attack by Selenium deficiency, Diabetes by Chromium and Vanadium deficiency; Alzheimer’s disease by vitamin E deficiency etc.

Nutrition is not just a multivitamin alone

Since nutritional deficiencies may impair homeostatic equilibrium, while free radicals may cause oxidative stress and cellular damage, prescribing nutritional supplements and antioxidants are an integral part of the bioregulatory treatment.

Increased nutritional awareness and specific dietary guidance help preventing tissue acidification. The need for exclusion of white bread, coffee and sugar and increased intake of alkaline supplements (calcium, magnesium/sodium bicarbonate) and alkaline rich food, such as fruits, nuts and vegetables; is gradually becoming a common knowledge.

Your intestines often need to be renewed with a non-toxic and hypoallergenic diet, intestinal cleansing and prescription of specific probiotics, prebiotics or symbiotics.

Taking care of psoriasis from the inside out.

Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease causing an overproduction of skin cells. This results in thickened patches of skin, which are red and scaly and often itchy and painful. The patches most commonly appear on the knees, elbows, scalp, hands, feet, back, fingernails and toenails.

Detoxify the bowels and liver to eliminate a possible overgrowth of Candida albicans or other microbes that may be infecting the body. To do that, be sure to drink plenty of water every day (usually 10 to 12 cups) and supplement with a high quality probiotic supplement.

One of the main gut problems in people with psoriasis appears to be faulty digestion of protein; this, in turn, creates excessive toxicity in the bowel, which weakens the gut lining and allows substances to intoxicate the rest of the body. This can lead to skin problems including psoriasis and other forms of inflammation. A digestive enzyme supplement taken with each main meal should also help. The body naturally produces proteolytic enzymes (which digest protein) but may not be producing enough, so taking a source of these may help.-Look out for a formula containing protease - the broad name for enzymes which digest protein.

Psoriasis is an immune-mediated disease, so it follows that fish oil—if it alters immune reactivity—could improve psoriasis.

Milk thistle stops the breakdown of substances that contribute to psoriasis. Some herbal practitioners suggest tea or tincture made with milk thistle to help alleviate the symptoms of psoriasis.

Lecithin: Lecithin is also considered a remarkable remedy for psoriasis. The patient may take six to nine lecithin capsules a day-two or three capsules before or after each meal. If taken in the form of granules, four tablespoonfuls may be taken daily for two months. The dosage may be reduced thereafter to two tablespoons.

Psorisias and Diet

If your body chemistry is too acid you must eat more alkaline foods to assist psoriasis treatment. You can test your acid/alkaline balance by using simple litmus paper. If your urine is under +7, you are too acid.

Balancing your diet - Acid/Alkaline

When food is metabolised by the body the end products are either acidic or alkaline. Acids are compounds of elements, which give away hydrogen ions, alkalines are compounds of elements which attract hydrogen ions. The body needs both acids and alkalines for its metabolism but we have more difficulty getting rid of acids than alkalines. It is therefore easy for an accumulation of excess acids to occur which can cause us to get rheumatism or skin problems such as psoriasis. To avoid this, aim for a diet which is 70% alkaline and 30% acid. One of the simplest ways to immediately create more alkalinity in your body is to drink so-called superfood powdered drinks. Choose a brand that contains ingredients with high alkaline values such as spinach, broccoli, carrot, wheatgrass, barley grass, chlorella, alfalfa and sprouted grain powders. Many of these ingredients are contained in Green cell Therapy.

Milk thistle, lactobacillus, and digestive enzymes are in Green cell therapy.

Light, especially sunlight, has long been known to have healing powers, but it wasn't until the 1980's that science began discovering how specific wavelengths of light could have specific positive effects on human physiology, especially the skin. For instance, today narrowband light is used to treat several skin conditions like acne, psoriasis, eczema, and vitiligo. And light therapy has also found its way into the cosmetic world as an effective method for skin rejuvenation. We have the Omnilux light. Using the Omnilux Plus combined with the Omnilux Revive offers an alternative to the current treatments for psoriasis without the side effects. Clinical studies show impressive reductions in erythema, surface area, and infiltration of plaque psoriasis when treated with Omnilux light therapy only over a 5 wk period.

Sexibalm contains Coconut oil and various essential oils beneficial for psoriasis. Can be used with the Omnilux light to aid penetration.

Tea Tree Oil, also known as melaleuca oil, is renowned for its special remedial properties and has been used by Australian Aborigines for hundreds of years. Apart from chewing on its leaves, the aborigines used it for treating many skin-ailments, such as burns, cuts, and psoriasis! This essential oil is steam-distilled from a tree native to Australia, and acts as an antiseptic, a mild anaesthetic and a disinfectant, thanks to a compound called ‘terpinen-4-ol’. It is so useful that tea-tree oil became standard issue for Australian soldiers during World War 2! It is also great for treating scalp-psoriasis, and can be mixed directly into the shampoo before every wash.

Lavender Oil is a firm favourite for many – it smells just like that perfume your terrifying elderly aunt uses, and it’s great for psoriasis! It is a species of mint that grows in the Mediterranean, and bears very recognisable purple flowers. The plant has anti-inflammatory compounds called linalool and linalyl aldehyde, and also acts as an antiseptic agent. In addition, the University of Maryland Medical Centre has published studies that have demonstrated the benefits of using lavender oil in controlling pain and limiting scaly skin patches.

Coconut oil also helps in treating various skin problems including psoriasis, dermatitis, eczema and other skin infections.

Vitamin E oil, is a natural treatment for Psoriasis. Rubbing Vitamin E directly on the affected skin will help moisturize and heal the skin. This natural oil will also help prevent scarring.

Green tea is already well known to be a powerful anti-inflammatory agent with good astringent properties, which makes it a valuable ingredient in skin cleansers, toners and lotions. If it also "induces capsase 14 production", the missing link in psoriasis, it may be helpful to use a poultice of green tea on such lesions.

Green Cell Therapy: Detoxify, Alkalinize with Vitagreen

WHY DO WE NEED GREEN SUPERFOOD SUPPLEMENTS?

If you live on an average American/Western diet you need to consider taking additional vitamin and mineral supplements. Ideally it shouldn’t be necessary. The best way to maintain health is to eat a balanced diet consisting of organic, ripe and raw fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts and whole grains just to mention some of the most important foods. But even then we may find that we lack vital minerals and vitamins. Firstly, we don’t eat enough fruit and vegetables. Secondly, those we eat are low in nutrients.

Green superfood adds nutrients that our food lacks.

The truth is that conventionally grown fruit and vegetables may be nutritionally deficient; The soil they are grown on are depleted and out of balance, missing important vitamins and minerals. In addition the fruit and vegetables are routinely sprayed with such a broad selection of anti fungals, antibiotics, insecticides, pesticides and dozens of other types of toxic chemicals that they may actually contain more harmful ingredients than good ingredients. As a result people suffer from deficient in nutrients and that again leads to disease.

Ideally we should buy organic vegetables from farmers that have been organically farming for many years.

Consider organic green superfood supplements to correct deficiencies and prevent disease.

Even if all fruit and vegetables had optimal levels of vitamins- and minerals most people don’t consume enough to satisfy their daily needs. My advice is that you include some organic raw and green superfoods in your diet to avoid and correct any deficiencies. These green powders provide your body with many of the essential vitamins, minerals and other substances that is needed for optimal health. You only need a small amount daily of a high organic quality green superfood supplement to cover all your bodies needs, if you combine it with a healthy diet.

Probiotics, a comparison and shopping guide

A probiotic is an organism which contributes to the health and balance of the intestinal tract. A probiotic is also referred to as the "friendly", "beneficial", or "good" bacteria which when ingested acts to maintain a healthy intestinal tract and help fight illness and disease.

You can add probiotics to your diet through nutritional supplements or foods such as yogurt, fermented and unfermented milk, miso, and some juices and soy drinks. Read product labels carefully, looking for a statement that the product contains "live and active cultures," such as lactobacillus.

Although more research is needed, there's encouraging evidence that probiotics may help:

Treat diarrhea, especially following treatment with certain antibiotics
Prevent and treat vaginal yeast infections and urinary tract infections
Treat irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
Speed treatment of certain intestinal infections
Prevent and treat eczema in children
Prevent or reduce the severity of colds and flu
Some researchers believe probiotics may improve general health.

Most people can safely add probiotic foods to a healthy diet. If you're considering taking probiotic supplements, check with your doctor to make sure the supplements are right for you.Align and Culturelle are probably the two most commonly know probiotic supplements so it is important to understand the differences between them.

The most important point to remember is that each of these supplements contain a different probiotic.

Align Probiotic Bifidobacterium Bifantis)
CFU in one capsule/tablet/dose 1 billion

Culturelle Lactobacillus GG, Inulin (prebiotic)
CFU in one capsule/tablet/dose 10 billion

Do they contain lactose? No
Do they contain milk proteins? Trace amounts
Do they contain gluten? No
Are they proven to survive stomach acid? Yes
Are they proven to adhere? Yes
Are there any possible side effects? Mild short term bloating or gas
