Prenatal class

A childbirth class is a great way to prepare for labor and birth. The typical class includes weekly sessions and consists of lectures, discussion, and exercises, led by a trained childbirth instructor.
While approaches vary, the goal is to provide you with information to minimize your fears and help you make informed decisions. You'll also learn techniques to help you relax and cope.
Most hospitals offer classes, or you can take one through an independent instructor or organization. Classes range from intensive courses that begin early in pregnancy and continue through the postpartum period to one-shot refresher sessions.

However, many patients do not take prenatal classes, which is sometimes difficult due to cost or scheduling issues. I suggest to my patients that they learn the basics in the comfort of their own home, in an affordable and entertaining fashion. Click below to order DVD's online, or check your local library.

  1. Choosing the best healthcare provider for prenatal care is about more than just talent. An obstetrician needs to believe in some or all of the choices parents make along the way or at least support the choices of expecting parents. Prenatal Care South Florida
