Shopping for a yeast free diet

What is Candida?

Candida is a controversial term because most of the medical professionals deny its existence making it very difficult to get a medical diagnosis of Candida. But many of Western Medical Doctors/ Naturopaths are beginning to recognize it. So, if you feel this can be a part of your case history, find a doctor who best represents your needs.

Candida is the popular term for Candidiasis (yeast overgrowth) - a condition first identified by American physicians in the 1970s. Moderate amounts of Candida (and other yeast) live in every one of us without causing any harm, but when given free rein to grow (when intestinal bacteria is killed by antibiotics, drugs, NSAID’s, alcohol and other items listed below) it leaves an opportunity for invaders to recolonize the intestines. Once Candida mutates, it begins to break down the intestinal lining and eventually breaks through the intestinal wall. Once through the intestinal wall it now moves through the bloodstream and anywhere blood travels (organs, tissues, joints, bones etc.)

Contributory factors to Candida over Growth:
use of the contraceptive pill or HRT
· use of natural progesterone cream
· use of other steroids (hydrocortisone, prednisolone etc.)
· use of immune-suppressive drugs
· repeated use of broad-spectrum antibiotics e.g. for acne
· dental mercury amalgam poisoning
· other heavy metal poisoning e.g. lead, cadmium
· chemical poisoning from the home, garden, workplace etc.
· hormonal changes e.g. puberty, pregnancy, menopause and Stress

 1. FatBurner - helps you eat less sugar and contains chromium, cinnamon, green tea Many people with Type I and Type II diabetes are deficient in chromium. In cases of low levels of chromium, supplementing with extra chromium could make a difference in balancing blood sugar levels. Cinnamon: This spice is a powerful anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and anti-microbial agent. In laboratory tests, growth of yeasts that were resistant to the commonly used anti-fungal medication fluconazole was often stopped by cinnamon extracts.

 2. Octocleanse is an herbal yeast and parasite detox. It contains natural herbs including some that help with yeast: Pau D' Arco, garlic, and grapefruit combat yeast while the other ingredients in this formula get to work on viruses, parasites and bacteria. Caprylic acid kills yeast in one phase of it's growth,  Other ingredients and their actions include:

OLIVE LEAF EXTRACT— Exhibits a myriad of medicinal uses used for centuries. The leaves have shown to have significant anti-microbial action, and are an effective agent against resistant strains of fungi which includes (yeast, Candida, viruses and bacteria).
PAU D’ARCO— Has shown to successfully treat fungal conditions such as athletic foot, and yeast infections such as Candida. It has a mild laxative effect that makes it useful for chronic constipation. It has also shown promise in patients with arthritis, peptic ulcers, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. GRAPEFRUIT WHOLE POWDER— Is primary used as a treatment for vaginal yeast infections caused by Candida and the intestinal condition known as Candida Overgrowth Syndrome. It is also used to kill strep, staph, salmonella, e-coli, influenza, parasites, herpes, fungi and travelers diarrhea. HYSSOP (WILD OREGANO)— The leaves, dried herb and volatile oil are used medicinally. A test tube study demonstrated that oil of oregano inhibited the growth of Candida Albicans effectively.

 3. Dr. Comeaux's COQ10 with Omega 3 Dietary Supplement, 60 softgels Consuming fish oil capsules can also contribute to the detoxification process because they contain natural triglyceride lipids that facilitate expelling of toxins with the bowel movement. CoQ10 may help with energy while you are giving up sugar.

Appliance ideas for a low cholesterol diet

The American Heart Association recommends eating no more than six ounces of cooked lean meat, poultry, fish or seafood a day for people who need 2,000 calories. Most meats have about the same amount of cholesterol, roughly 70 milligrams in each three-ounce cooked serving (about the size of a deck of cards). But the amount of saturated fat in meats can vary widely, depending on the cut and how it's prepared. Here are some ways to reduce the saturated fat in meat: Select lean cuts of meat with minimal visible fat. Lean beef cuts include the round, chuck, sirloin or loin. Lean pork cuts include the tenderloin or loin chop, while lean lamb cuts come from the leg, arm and loin. Buy "choice" or "select" grades rather than "prime." Select lean or extra lean ground beef. Trim all visible fat from meat before cooking. Broil rather than pan-fry meats such as hamburger, lamb chops, pork chops and steak.

Use a rack to drain off fat when broiling, roasting or baking. The Nu Wave oven pro cooks using these methods. By using racks, it releases up to 250% more fat drippings than a regular conventional oven. Plus no added fats or oils are required. Instead of basting with drippings, keep meat moist with wine, fruit juices or an acceptable oil-based marinade. Showtime Ronco Rotisserie Oven

Cook a day ahead of time. Stews, boiled meat, soup stock or other dishes in which fat cooks into the liquid can be refrigerated. Then the hardened fat can be removed from the top. Eat chicken and turkey rather than duck and goose, which are higher in fat. Remove the skin from chicken or turkey, preferably before cooking. If your poultry dries out too much, leave the skin on for cooking but remove before eating. Limit processed meats such as sausage, bologna, salami and hot dogs. Many processed meats — even those with "reduced fat" labels — are high in calories and saturated fat. They are often high in sodium as well. Eat more seafood.

Try meatless meals featuring vegetables or beans — think eggplant lasagna, a big grilled portobello mushroom on a bun in place of a burger, or beans-n-weenies without the weenies. Or think of meat as a condiment in casseroles, stews, soups and spaghetti — use it sparingly, just for flavor, rather than as a main ingredient. The cholesterol in eggs is all in the yolks --- without the yolk, egg whites are a heart-healthy source of protein. Many recipes calling for whole eggs come out just as good when you use egg whites or cholesterol-free egg substitute instead of whole eggs. Replace each whole egg with two egg whites. For baking, you may want to add a tablespoon or less of liquid vegetable oil such as canola, safflower, sunflower or soybean for a moister consistency. Increase fiber and whole grains. Use olive oil or grapeseed oil instead of butter to sautee your vegetables, or grill them halogen infrared oven,George Forman grill countertop

Herbal Yeast and Parasite Detoxification

Octocleanse is an advanced multi- dimensional formula containing herbal and nutritional components. There can be over 100 different types of parasites worms living in human bodies. Some are microscopic in size while others can be seen quite easily. These common organisms can be found everywhere in our environment, in the air we breathe, in the water we drink, or in the food we eat. It has been estimated that 85% of the North American adult population has at least one form of parasite. And some of those parasites can make you sick. The benefits of cleansing the body of parasites and worms include purifying of the tissues, healed organs and glands (where parasites and worms dwell); improved and enhanced peristalsis (bowel movements); more energy, weight release (loss/reduction); improved skin condition, improvement in body odor; better absorption of nutrients (which parasites and worms rob the body of), and an overall sense of cleanliness and purity. Those seeking treatment for a specific disease should consult a qualified integrative physician prior to using our products if possible.

Candidiasis has become very prevalent in modern society, it has been reported that 80 million Americans suffer from yeast-related problems due to the overuse of antibiotics, poor diet, mercury amalgam fillings, and toxins from our food and the environment. During a candida cleanse a Candida diet plays a big part in the control of candida. The western diet that consists of a high level of sugar and yeast, feeds the candida and encourages it’s growth, in doing this the candida seeks more food and drains the body of glucose. This creates a craving for more sweet food which generally most people satisfy this craving and in doing so further feeds the candida, the candida flourishes and penetrates deeper into the intestinal wall producing more toxins and creating a path for toxins and undigested food particles to pass through to the bloodstream while also draining the body again of glucose and the vicious cycle continues.

Good bacteria play a large part in keeping the digestive system functioning properly and keeping candida from overgrowing. Antibiotics and toxins from our environment kill off the good bacteria. A normal detox program the does not consider a candida diet will not get this condition under control thereby not achieving a total and lasting detox.

Candida unchecked will just fuel the toxic cycle again.

A properly planed complete detox program should include a proven process that will get candida under control to help achieve a total detox.

The following is a very effective way to treat candida:

1. Following an anti candida diet, which is designed to starve the candida.
2. Probiotics
3. A quality all natural herbal remedy that assists in the killing off the candida.

Octocleanse is a natural dietary supplement that promotes internal cleansing, a strong immune system and healthy intestinal flora. Octocleanse can be a powerful ally in your overall cleansing and detoxification goals. Includes herbs traditionally used for support such as grapefruit seed extract and black walnut.
