Reasons you may not be losing weight on the hcg diet

1. Evaluate the tablespoon of Milk you are drinking.

Consider changing to goat, almond, soy, or rice milk. Milk contains hormones to promote quick growth and weight gain of the calf to enable it to survive on it's own at the earliest. A baby calf triples in weight within the first year of life so cow's milk has a high content of fat and hormones like insulin promoting growth factor (IGF). Because of this milk has been used for centuries as an invalid food to promote appetite and weight gain. It is an easily digestible, high protein food for those people who do not have a milk allergy or are not lactose intolerant. As it promotes weight gain, it predisposes to obesity, hormonal problems like diabetes, arteriosclerosis, hypertension and paralytic strokes. People with any of these conditions should avoid taking milk and other dairy products.
Non dairy milk
You may want to make sure you don't have a casein allergy by getting tested or an elimination diet.

2. You have a gluten allergy

Gluten allergies are relatively common. 1 in 111 adults (0.9%) have a gluten allergy. When people with gastrointestinal complaints were studied, 1 in 30 adults (3.3%) were found to have a gluten allergy. This makes a gluten allergy quite common, especially when people with chronically uncomfortable guts are considered.

Using digestive enzymes can be effective in minimizing the impact of gluten for those with gluten intolerance or gut injury.

Also, avoid the melba toast and grissini on the diet. Or you can replace them with gluten free crackers.

3. You have an allergy to any of the foods on the diet.

Most of the foods on this diet do not commonly trigger allergies. But you could be exposing yourself to #1 and #2… and it would not be impossible that you are eating or seasoning your food with something that is counterproductive. People can be allergic to spices. Try salt only and see how that works, or have your practitioner check your sensitivity to some spices and only use the ones you do not react to.

Allergy to strawberries is one of the most common of all fruit and vegetable allergies. When a person is allergic to this fruit, it is likely they are reacting to the birch pollen allergen that apples and peaches bring on.

4. You did not do a colon cleanse.

When doing the HCG diet it is highly recommended to do a colon cleanse. The hcg diet gets rid of stored fat fast, and fat stores toxins as well. By cleaning your colon and getting rid of excess toxins, you greatly aid your hcg diet plan. If your colon and liver are not up to speed, You cannot expect them to optimally help you shed weight. This one can be used during the diet.

5. Your adrenal glands may be functioning suboptimally.

Check your DHEA level, if it is low, a supplement may make your weight loss more effective.
DHEA is an adrenal hormone that also aids in increasing metabolism and burning fat and reducing stress.

6. You are still craving food and are eating things that are not allowed.

7. You are using lotion or some cosmetic that is not allowed. Try our coconut oil infused with essential oils. www.sexibalm.com 832-237-4200

8. Through readjustment of the normal pH balance in the body,

People who change their diets to maintain pH balance will likely notice a welcome side effect: weight loss. A pH balance diet is so effective for weight loss that there are several well-known pH balance weight loss programs in existence.

Balancing your diet - Acid/Alkaline

When food is metabolised by the body the end products are either acidic or alkaline. Acids are compounds of elements, which give away hydrogen ions, alkalines are compounds of elements which attract hydrogen ions. The body needs both acids and alkalines for its metabolism but we have more difficulty getting rid of acids than alkalines. One of the simplest ways to immediately create more alkalinity in your body is to drink so-called superfood powdered drinks. Choose a brand that contains ingredients with high alkaline values such as spinach, broccoli, carrot, wheatgrass, barley grass, chlorella, alfalfa and sprouted grain powders. Many of these ingredients are contained in Green cell Therapy.
Milk thistle, lactobacillus, and digestive enzymes are in Vitagreen (formerly known as Green cell therapy).

Other ingredients:

Wheat Grass juice powder, barley grass juice powder, chlorella, CoQ10, Carrot Juice Powder, Beet Juice Powder, Parsley Leaf Powder, Kale Juice Powder, Grape seed exract, Milk Thistle seed extract, Lycopene, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Quercetin, Dandelion Powder, Spinach Powder, Blue Green Algae, Bee Pollen Powder, Aloe Vera Powder, Flax Seed Powder, Lecithin, Green Tea Extract, Astralagus Powder, Royal Jelly, Brown Rice Powder, Lipase, Lactase, Amyalse, Protease, Bifidobacerium Longum, Lactobacillus Casei, Lactobacillus Rhamnonsus, Lactobacillus Acidophilus

9. Yeast overload

Belly fat is more than just fat. Yeast causes abdominal bloating that can add an extra 5-7 inches that seems to appear out of nowhere. This can be devastating for someone who is on a diet and trying to lose weight and lose inches. If a woman says she has only been eating 1,000 calories a day for a week yet still gained weight a doctor tends to think she is not being truthful. However, if most of her diet is carbohydrates and sugar she may very well be growing yeast, which create a toxic build up and fluid retention to dilute the toxins. It’s a whole new way of looking at weight gain.

Besides bloating and toxic fluid build up, yeast can decrease thyroid function and lead to lowered metabolism, which is a well known cause of weight gain. Some yeast toxins can block hormone receptors and block hormone action.

10. You have a vitamin deficiency

I recommend that people load with Omega 3, Coenzyme Q10 and Vitamin D prior to the diet. Take as much as you can on the loading days.

For the Omega 3, take at least two 1000 mg tablets with each meal for the three loading days.
According to the Journal of Obesity, recent studies have shown that supplementation with Omega 3 fish oil increased the number of fat calories burned in a single day.

Co enzyme Q10 and weight loss goes hand in hand. This increases the metabolism rate in our body which burns up the food that we eat, faster. This enzyme is present more in the liver, pancreas and the heart than in the lungs. The presence of CoQ10, not only improves the metabolism rate in our body, but it also improves the immune system. Deficiency of the co enzyme Q10, in an individual, reduces the level of metabolism due to which the person might face several problems related to weight.

Take calcium and B vitamins during the diet.

But for the next phase, and while you are on maintenance, heed the advice above.

11. Try a chromium supplement

Chromium that has been shown to reduce fat accumulation, reduce cholesterol, reduce triglycerides, and reduce blood sugar levels in those people who have adequate blood insulin levels. Over 30 hospital and university studies have been performed showing all of the positive effects of Chromium. It helps the body store and burn carbohydrate in the proper way so that you have more energy and less fat buildup in the body.

12. Did you fat load properly?

Beyond HCG diet; Post HCG diet shopping for new drinks

Maintenance (phase 3) you are allowed to have diet sodas. Other flavored beverages allowed include: select alcohol in limited quantities, Glaceau fruit water, crystal light, diet snapple, etc. Try to develop a habit that replaces a previous sugary soda habit.

Treat yourself to Walden Farms Calorie Free Fruit Strawberry and Blueberry Syrups. Made with concentrated fruit extracts and natural flavors, they make milk a special treat, are delicious over ice cream, enhance the flavor of fresh fruits, great in smoothies and delicious in recipes that call for fruit flavors

Here are some suggestions.

Orac value of different foods allowed in the Beta HCG diet

Orac value of different foods allowed in the Beta HCG diet

ORAC Values are the most common standard of measuring the antioxidant capacity of fruits and vegetables. ORAC stands for Oxygen Radical Absorbency Capacity. This standard has been adopted by the US Department of Agriculture, and has come to be accepted as some kind of "official" standard.

ORAC values measure the time an antioxidant takes to react to free radicals, as well as the amount of antioxidants in the specific food. It combines these elements into one measurement.

Foods with a higher ORAC value, in general, have a greater antioxidant potential than those with low values. The foods that tend to rank the highest in ORAC values are fruits with bright pigmentation: berries, red grapes, cherries and apples are some examples.

Based on scientific evidence, daily antioxidant intake should increase to 3,000 to 5,000 ORAC units per day to reach a significant antioxidant capacity in blood plasma and other tissues. According to the U. S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), current intake is about 1,200 units per day.

One can still obtain the 3000-5000 ORAC recommended on this diet, if you include herbs in your seasoning, and combine your foods for maximum effect. One can also drink herbal tea.

Tea has a high ORAC score: USDA researchers, using a test tube measure called ORAC, found that an 8-ounce serving of black or green tea is more effective in neutralizing free radicals than individual servings of more than 33 commonly consumed fruits and vegetables.

Shampoos and Conditioners on the HCG diet

Oil free shampoo is must if you are on Hcg diet. On the diet, one is advised to consume low fat food but for better result one should also use fat free cosmetics. This is because oils, cream, perfumes are made of animal fat, vegetable oil, chemicals and synthetic additives.

They get soaked in the skin and enter blood where they are mistaken as hormone. They disturb endocrine function and can also stall Hcg performance of weight loss. The oil absorbed may also impair your ability to burn calories. Oil free shampoos should not contain harmful chemicals like phthalates, paraben, sodium lauryl etc. most of the organic or herbal shampoo include green tea, camellia oil, wheat germ, peppermint, vegetable glycerin, willowbark and lemon extracts. They just make your hair voluminous, soft and strong.

Amount of allowed vegetables on Beta HCG diet

On the Beta HCG diet, the vegetable can be fresh, frozen or canned. You may steam, broil, grill, or eat it raw.
Fortunately, the amount of vegetables allowed is more flexible than the meat, fruit, or carb.
Too much fruit, and you have eaten way too many sugar calories.
Too much meat, and you have eaten too many fat calories.

The vegetables, as long as they are prepared without fat or sugar, leave the most flexibility.

You are allowed up to 500 calories per day in total food.
Let's say for example that you eat shrimp as your 100 gram meat, and strawberries as your fruit for each meal that day. You would have more calories left and would be able to eat way more vegetables than on a day where you ate beef for your 100 grams of meat and apples for your fruit.

If you have my book, the Beta HCG Detox diet, which is available on my website, you will get some ideas of the calorie counts of the different meal combinations.

In most of my recipes I used 100 grams of each vegetable, but in the original protocol, Dr. Simeons was not as precise about the amount of vegetables as he was about everything else.

I would measure 100 grams, unless you see room for extra calories in your meal and want to increase the amount of vegetables to get to your 500 calories.

Here are some calorie estimations to help you with your calculations.

Asparagus (3.5 oz) – 20 calories

Beet Greens

Broccoli (3.5 oz) – 34 calories
Broccoli (1 cup – 88g) – 30 calories

Celery (3.5 oz) – 15 cal
Celery (medium stalk) – 6 calories

Cabbage (3.5 oz) – 24 calories
Cabbage (1 cup shredded) – 17 calories

Cauliflower (3.5 oz) – 22 calories
Cauliflower (1 cup) – 28 calories

Cucumber (3.5 oz) – 12 calories

Fennel

Lettuce, all varieties (3.5 oz) – 20 calories
Lettuce, all varieties (1 cup) – 8 calories

Onions (pickled) - 23 calories per 100 grams

Red Radishes (3.5 oz) – 12 calories
Red Radishes (one medium) – 1 calories

Spinach, raw (3.5 oz) – 20 calories
Spinach, raw (1 cup) – 7 calories
Spinach, frozen (3.5 oz) – 23 calories
Spinach, frozen (1 cup) – 41 calories
Spinach, cooked (3.5 oz) – 31 calories
Spinach, cooked (1 cup) – 48 calories

Tomato (3.5 oz) – 20 calories

Sugar free sweeteners on the Beta HCG diet

The human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) diet is a low calorie diet that relies on the administration of hCG for appetite suppression and quick fat burning. It was originally devised by Dr. A.T.W. Simeons in the 1950s, when he was researching the effects of hCG and noticed that patients taking the hormone tended to lose weight. Simeons began to research the use of hCG for weight loss and noticed that dieters could consume very few calories and, as long as they were taking daily doses of hCG, they didn’t experience headaches, extreme hunger, or physical weakness.

hCG is a hormone that is produced in pregnant women and helps support the body’s production of progesterone. The hormone is believed to cause a pregnant woman’s body to release stored fat to nourish the fetus if the woman doesn’t consume enough calories. Those following the hCG diet are given the hormone because some believe it helps bodies burn fat quicker.

The hCG diet plan allows the intake of only 500 calories per day. Originally, the diet plan allowed unsweetened tea or coffee with up to one tablespoon of milk for breakfast. Artificial sweeteners saccharin and stevia were allowed in place of sugar. Lunch and dinner each consisted of low-fat poultry, fish, or meat — with a pre-cooked weight of 100 grams — that was cooked without oil or butter; a vegetable; a breadstick or piece of Melba toast; and a serving of fruit. There were no snacks, unless the dieter wanted to eat the fruit, breadstick, or Melba toast for a snack instead of consuming it with the meal.

Nowadays, more sweeteners are available than just saccharin or stevia. I allow my patients to use any zero calorie sweetener they like, but if you find that your weight loss is not optimal, eliminate those all sweeteners altogether, or restrict yourself to the saccharin or stevia only.

Cheating on the HCG Diet

A person who follows the protocol to the letter should lose a pound a day, or the 34 pound limit during each month long session on the diet. It is always best to stick to the HCG Diet exactly, if you can. But if you must cheat, some items are more forgiving than others.

1) Try not to eat anything with sugar, starch, or fat. Sugar stimulates insulin and insulin turns it into fat. In "Pounds and Inches," Dr. Simeons cautions against eating sugar or starch during the three weeks just after doing the Hcg Diet. It's a big no-no during the diet, too. If you are wanting something extra to eat, you might be tempted when you are out socializing with your friends.

2) Try to schedule your diet when you will have a month where there are no major engagements involving food. Do not go on a cruise in the middle of the diet. The Beta HCG (per Dr. Simeons) redirects your hypothalamus to reset your weight set point. If you keep interrupting it, this may not happen.

3) If you must cheat, try to stay within the diet by eating the vegetables. Also, there are a few other foods you may not know about that are included at some Hcg Diet clinics. I have seen Zucchini, green beans, and watermelon included in other clinics.

4) If having time to make things is a problem, I have more hints: you may find some fat free, sugar free marinades, salad dressings and other items. I like a fat free, sugar free dressing called Maple Grove Farms Raspberry Vinaigrette, that I get at Wal-Mart.

5) If you travel for your job, carry food with you. Canned shrimp, canned asparagus, canned tomatoes, pickles in a jar, oranges, apples, and grapefruit can be packed. Your diet will become very monotonous, but stay on it.

6) It is really good if you keep a food diary of just what you eat and how you are feeling. It is one of the best things you can do, so you can check your progress. You want to be able to look back and figure out what you did right on those days that you lost more than a pound a day and when you only lost half a pound. Sometimes it is really hard to figure out.

7) You can make yourself an iced coffee with Stevia or flavored splenda. It's not quite like Starbucks, but you can try that. Also you may like to take your handful of strawberries and make a smoothie to drink. Just add water, ice and Stevia in your blender. You won't even be cheating! My book also has some sugar free drink and dessert recipes made from frozen teas that can give you the satisfaction of a meal without adding calories.

8) To stay on the diet, I suggest eating a sliced tomato or cucumber with salt and pepper between meals or a pickle. You can even broil the tomato in the oven or toaster oven with some spices. It is on the diet, and the few (fat free, sugar free) calories shouldn't completely stall your progress

9) One last thing. If you get tired of chicken or fish, have a scrambled egg or hard boiled egg. Dr Simeons mentions in his manuscript, "Pounds and Inches, " about eggs for those who are vegetarians. Just cook the scrambled egg in a little water in a non-stick pan. You can have it with spinach or tomato on top.

Acai Berry supplements can aid in weight loss, especially when paired with the Official HCG Diet Plan. It helps boost your metabolism, the engine that drives calorie burning. The ingredients within this Acai Berry Detox blend were selected specifically for use before, during, or even after the HCG diet.

The Acai Berry formula is also a smart choice because it contains polyphenols, antioxidant compounds that have the capacity to neutralize free radicals produced by regular exercise. And that's important when you are trying to get in shape.

Take the Acai Berry Cleanse with or without the HCG Diet Plan. Feel free to start taking at anytime before, during, or after the HCG Diet. While regular exercise is good for your figure and your health, it can generate free radicals in your body, which are damaging compounds that cause harmful oxidative stress. Acai has powerful antioxidant activity that can help your body stand up to these free radicals, with or without exercise.

There are also ingredients that aid in constipation in this formula.

Acai is one of the most nutritious and powerful foods. Further, Acai has a high ORAC value (oxygen-radical absorbance capacity). ORAC is the new measurement of antioxidant potential.

Diuretic Teas for the Beta HCG diet or as a natural remedy for swelling

Teas can be an important source of nutrients as well as an important detox aid.
diuretic tea weight loss
Teas that promote diuretic release include Cornsilk Tea, Green tea, Dandelion Tea, Fennel Tea and Parsley tea

Parsley Tea in particular is a very powerful natural diuretic. It contains vitamins A and C and has more beta-carotene than a large carrot. A cup of minced parsley has more vitamin C then eating 2 oranges. And a cup of minced parsley has more calcium than a cup of milk and 20 x as much iron as liver. Parsley is also a natural breath freshener thanks to chlorophyll contain in Parsley.

Elotin tea is a natural product to help control insulin. When you have better control of your insulin levels you can better control hunger, cravings.

6 Meatless Beta HCG diet recipes

In countries where cottage cheese made from skimmed milk is available 100 grams may occasionally be used instead of the meat, but no other cheeses are allowed.

Cottage cheese is often eaten straight where it is like the curds of the nursery rhyme food "curds and whey".

100 grams of cottage cheese contains 72 calories.

Some people following the diet may want to substitute this for various reasons:
1. Convenience... does not need to be cooked
2. You are tired of eating meat
3. You need food high in Calcium

Tomatoes and cottage cheese

This makes a great side dish or snack.

Cherry tomatoes or 1 tomato, cut into quarters
1 Cup cottage cheese
Salt and pepper to taste

In a bowl, add cottage cheese and tomatoes. Season with salt and pepper. Serve.

Radishes and cottage cheese

Trim the ends off of the radishes and peel a band of radish-skin from around the middle of the radish. Steam the radishes in a covered microwave safe container for 8 minutes, or until fork tender. Add to a bowl of 100 g of cottage cheese. Season with salt and pepper. Can also use paprika, garlic powder, onion powder to taste.

Strawberry Cottage Cheese

100 grams low fat or part-skim small curd cottage cheese
1/2 cup sliced strawberries
1-2 packets Splenda

Blend well. Use a blender, or mix with spoon. Serve immediately or soon after making.

Cottage Cheese with Baked Apple

1 medium apple(s)
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
1 dash(es) nutmeg, ground
100 grams cottage cheese, low-fat, no-salt-added

Preparation

1. Remove the seeds from the center of the apple with a paring knife. Cut through the skin, all the way around the apple, about an inch from the bottom. (This prevents the skin from shrinking) Place the apple in microwave safe dish

2.Inside core of apple, dust with cinnamon and nutmeg.

3. Microwave on high for 3-5 minutes, until apple is thoroughly cooked.

4. Spoon cottage cheese into the center to complete filling the opening. Enjoy.

Broiled Cinnamon Grapefruit and Cottage Cheese

1/2 grapefruit topped with cinnamon and broiled for 3 minutes
100 grams cottage cheese

If you put the cottage cheese on top while it is warm, you will get a melted, cheesy effect.

Applesauce and cottage cheese with Cinnamon

1 serving cottage cheese
enough applesauce to cover (1 cup of applesause is 100 calories, about 1 medium apple)
cinnamon to taste

Preparation:

Simply put a serving of cottage cheese in a small bowl and smooth it out evenly. Cover with a cup of applesauce. Sprinkle with cinnamon.

You can also eat apple chips with cottage cheese. Look carefully at the serving size and limit how many you eat to 80-100 calories, approx the same as a medium apple.

Constipation and the Beta HCG diet

Since you are not eating 25-35 grams of fiber daily, you may notice that your bowel movements are not regular on the beta HCG diet. I have some strategies that may help, although you may not still be as before.

First, I urge people to do a colon cleanse prior to the diet, especially if they are constipated, because it can cause great discomfort if stool is sitting there for a month with nothing coming along to push it out.

Make sure you are drinking your two liters of water daily, more if possible.

During the diet, some herbal teas (like senna tea) will help with moving waste along. A magnesium supplement will also be of benefit.

During the maintanence phase, the Acai Ultimate product, can provide additional support while you try to incorporate your new eating habits into your diet. This product can also be used as a gentle colon cleanse before the diet.

Hunger on the Beta HCG diet

Some people are still hungry on the Beta HCG diet.

Make sure you are drinking 2 liters of water daily.

Space your meals so you do not go more than three hours without eating
i.e eat your lunch at 11 (meat and vegetable), then your fruit at two, then your dinner (meat and vegetable at five, and your other fruit at eight.

Other helpful strategies:

1. drink cinnamon tea, green tea, or hoodia tea. Other teas to try include Alfalfa, burdock, nettles. Make sure your tea is unsweetened. Fragrant teas like earl grey or lavender tea can also trick your body into thinking it has consumed dessert, thereby staving off the temptation to cheat.

Honeybush tea
Studies have shown that honeybush tea:
-Eases constipation.
-Is an inexpensive method of losing weight as it staves off hunger pangs and reduces water retention.
-Is caffeine free and has a soothing effect on the central nervous system.
-Has been traditionally used to treat cough as it contains piniton, a modified sugar that is used to make cough syrups. Piniton also lowers blood sugar levels and is currently being developed by pharmaceuticals as a prescription drug for diabetics.
-It can also be applied to the skin to soothe skin irritations.
-Contains anti-oxidants that help lower blood lipids (fatty substances).
-Contains elements that are known to prevent breast cancer, prostate cancer and uterine cancer.
-It keeps high cholesterol levels in the blood under control.
-Consists of elements that are used in the treatment of menopausal symptoms.
-It is rich in minerals such as iron, potassium, calcium, copper, zinc, magnesium, manganese, and sodium.

2. take a chromium supplement to stabilize your blood glucose level
In 1959, chromium was first identified as an element that enables the hormone insulin to function properly. Since then, chromium has been studied for diabetes and has become a popular dietary supplement.

The Fat Burner supplement also contains cinnamon and green tea extract.
