Signs and Symptoms of Metal and Chemical Toxicity

Heavy metal poisoning and chemical toxicity lead to the accumulation of toxins in our tissues and organs causing nutritional deficiencies, hormonal imbalances and the breakdown of the immune system, the central nervous system, and the organs of the body. This breakdown of bodily organs and systems will encourage numerous diseases and disorders (listed above) to take hold in the body.
It is important to know some of the early signs and symptoms of environmental toxicity so that you can take action to reverse it. The following is a few of the many symptoms of heavy metal poisoning and chemical toxicity:

Here is an incomplete list of common neurotoxins in order of importance:

Heavy metals — such as mercury, lead, cadmium and aluminum.
Biotoxins — such as tetanus toxin, botulinum toxin (botox), ascaridin (from intestinal parasites), unspecified toxins from streptococci, staphylococci, lyme disease, clamydia, tuberculosis, fungal toxins and toxins produced by viruses. Biotoxins are minute molecules (200–1000 kilodaltons) containing nitrogen and sulfur. They belong to a group of chemical messengers, which microorganisms use to control the host's immune system, host behavior and the host's eating habits.
Xenobiotics (man-made environmental toxins) — such as dioxin, formaldehyde, insecticides, and wood preservatives, PCBs etc.
Food Preservatives, excitotoxins and cosmetics — such as aspartame (diet sweeteners) food colorings, fluoride, methyl-and propyl-paraben, etc.

TREATMENT

Why would we want to treat anyone at all? Is it really needed?   Can the body not eliminate these toxins naturally on its own?
Here is a short list of independent risk factors, which can either cause accumulation of metals in an otherwise healthy body — or slow down, or inhibit the body's own elimination processes.

There are many methods of heavy metal detoxification. Here I prefer the gentle, herbal approach. I do not represent that a person will be 100% free of metals and toxins (as we are constantly accumulating new metals, toxins and parasites anyway), but I do feel it is important to help the body to do its job, and avoid overload of toxic substances.

Many of the products found here will perform a safe combination cleanse that have been tried by many patients with good results.

There are many considerations in choosing detox agents.  After choosing the appropriate agent for the individual client and particular metal and exact chemical form of it, we have to consider the body compartment where the metal is stored.  For example, the algae chlorella is ideal for removing virtually all toxic metals from the gut but has too little effect on mercury stored in the brain.  Intravenous glutathione may reach the intracellular environment, even in the brain, but is fairly ineffective in removing mercury from the gut.  Each agent has a primary place of action, which determines when, how much and for how long it is used.  Agents that have multiple effects on compounds of different metals in the various body compartments are the basis for our detox program. A detox program can be customized for you, depending on your symptoms. Finally, it is imperative to first start the heavy metal detoxification with colon cleansing and liver cleansing, or to combine them.

1. Proteins provide the important precursors to the endogenous metal detox and shuttle agents, such as coeruloplasmin, metallothioneine, glutathione and others. Metals attach themselves only in places that are programmed for attachment of metal ions. Mineral deficiency provides the opportunity for toxic metals to attach themselves to vacant binding sites. Without enough fluid intake the kidneys may become contaminated with metals. The basal membranes swell up and the kidneys can no longer efficiently filtrate toxins. Vitamin C, Intravenous Vitamin C And Heavy Metal Detoxification
Lead - Vitamin C has been shown to be as effective as EDTA in chelating lead from the body.
Mercury - Megadoses of vitamin C is effective in mercurial poisoning. One scientist noted that if guinea pigs were given a preventative dose of vitamin C, instead of 100% dying from mercuric chloride poisoning, 40% survived.

4. Increase intake of psyllium, which is a bulk forming laxative, high in fiber and mucilage. This is helpful in having 2-3 bowel movements per day. (Acai Ultimate, Metamucil, Konsyl, etc)

5. High consumption of fish oil protects one from damage caused by dental amalgam fillings. Lipids (made from fatty acids) make up 60–80% of the central nervous system and need to be constantly replenished. Deficiency makes the nervous system vulnerable to the fat soluble metals, such as metallic mercury constantly escaping as odorless and invisible vapor evaporating from the amalgam fillings. 6. Herbal detox: Milk Thistle (silymarin): This supplment guards the liver from potentially dangerous heavy metals and toxins, and increased glutathione production within the liver itself.
Cilantro: Heavy metals and mercury are removed from the brain and nervous system when stimulated by cilantro (chinese parsley), and moved to other tissues, having a less dangerous effect.
Chorella: Chorella combines with heavy metals so they can easily be removed by the digestive system.

Garlic: Research has also suggested that garlic extract may help to protect the body from heavy metal poisoning. When garlic extract was combined with red blood cells it prevented lead, mercury and aluminum from destroying them. Without the garlic extract, these heavy metals ruptured the red blood cells. Activated charcoal does essentially the same thing in your intestinal tract that a charcoal block does in your water filter. It attracts and traps thousands of times its own weight in gases, toxins, food additives, poisons, and other chemicals. 10. Glutathione is a major player in detoxifying the body of many toxic pollutants, including toxic metals and chemicals. Glutathione deficiency impairs the body's ability to get rid of toxins whether they are environmental or the by-products of cellular metabolism. We have glutathione by IV, and N acetyl cysteine, the precursor of glutathione, is in Octovite.
