Fish and Asparagus: Easy recipes for the Beta HCG diet

Lose 26 lbs in 26 days if you follow the diet as directed. Note that this is the average weight loss we have recorded from our clients. Some people lose more, some people lose less. But the fact is, you will definitely lose weight on this regimen without heavy exercise or without frozen or prepared foods to buy.

The HCG Diet is based off Dr. Simeons “Pounds & Inches - A New Approach to Obesity”

Obesity, Dr. Simeons concluded, was not a disease, but rather the symptom of an underlying disorder. Unfortunately, people with this disorder cannot lose weight simply by restricting calories, because their bodies perceive this as famine and will begin to hold fast to its reserve supplies of energy-rich fat – what Dr. Simeons identified as "abnormal fat."

In his studies, he discovered that a hormone, which medical science identifies as Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG), acted to prevent the mother's body from robbing nutrients from the fetus. He began to experiment with his obese patients by giving them low doses of HCG while restricting their calories. The results were significant; the HCG forced their bodies to utilize "abnormal" fat.

This is the basis of Dr. Simeons' HCG diet.

He also experimented with they types of foods that would allow the body to mobilize fat most effectively.

The HCG diet is based on basic foods like: lean protein (fish, shrimp, lobster, crab, chicken breast, beef, veal, kidney), tomatoes, celery, asparagus, cabbage, radish, onions, apples, strawberries, grapefruit, spinach, oranges and tea.

Lavender sea salt

Lavender is frequently alluded to as a natural remedy for a large variety of ailments. Lavender is primarily used in connection with insomnia, anxiety, depression, and mood disturbances. This is due to recent and past studies showing lavender's effectiveness in producing calming, soothing, and anticonvulsive effects in those who use it.

Suggested Health Benefits of Lavender

Lavender can be used in connection with the following conditions and symptoms:
Restlessness
Insomnia
Abdominal complaints

Lower your sodium intake. Consider salt substitutes.

You never have to compromise on taste while adding three advantages for your health. In addition to reducing sodium, Salt substitutes can include some of your daily recommended values of potassium and magnesium per serving. People with high blood pressure are frequently deficient in these two natural and essential minerals.

Are you wasting money on vitamins?

Perhaps you are... consider a blood test analysis to focus on what you are really missing.

Q: Why test micronutrients?
A: Nutrient status is a vital foundation of health. Each micronutrient plays an indispensable role in promoting optimal cell function. When some cells do not function at their best, the foundation of our health is compromised, setting the stage for the development of disease. Identifying and correcting nutritional deficiencies is an important step in the long-term maintenance of optimal health. Vitamin deficiencies aren’t just a reflection of diet. Since we are all biochemically unique, nutrient deficiencies will vary from patient to patient, and do not necessarily correlate directly with nutrient intake, even among those with similar health conditions. Many factors beyond diet determine whether nutrient function is adequate. These include biochemical individuality, genetic predisposition, absorption and metabolism, age, disease conditions and medications.

Q: What diseases or conditions are linked to nutrient imbalance?
A: Arthritis, Parkinson's, alcoholism/substance abuse, behavioral disorders, cancer, cardiovascular diseases, chronic fatigue, macular degeneration, diabetes, immune disorders, multiple sclerosis, stroke, and osteoporosis have been linked to nutrient imbalances. Studies published in 2002 in the Journal of the American Medical Association confirm the connection between nutrient deficiencies and disease processes.

Q: What about people who maintain a "healthy" lifestyle?
A: Even people with healthy habits can have deficiencies. Biochemical individuality, absorption, chronic conditions, age, and lifestyle influence individual micronutrient requirements. Even a healthy-looking person can have micronutrient deficiencies that may only be revealed through testing.

Who do I recommend these tests for?

Everyone can benefit from this information. Supplements are a good idea, but there are so many! Ultimately, you may save money by not taking unnecessary supplements, and you may notice an improvement in your symptoms by focusing on your actual deficiencies. Often, people with unexplained infertility and intractable headaches can be improved by addressing nutritional deficiencies.

Very Low Calorie diet/Beta HCG Diet

The Beta Hcg Detox Diet

The hCG Weight Reduction Program is a medical approach to reducing excessive storage fat and weight gain built around a low calorie diet coupled with small dose of a hormone called hCG, that helps stimulate fat metabolism. The relationship between hCG and weight loss was discovered by Dr. A.T.W. Simeons in the 1960's. Tens of thousands of people reportedly used his treatment and achieved rapid weight loss. Unlike nearly every other weight reduction program available today, Simeons' patients reportedly did not gain the weight back. In addition to loss of unwanted fat, the true benefit of the hCG protocol is its ability to help modify the dieter's relationship with food and eating, resulting in easily maintained, long-term weight loss.

hCG / FDA DISCLAIMER The Role of the FDA: The FDA’s role is to set-up tests and recommend safety of drug related products on the market. As an agency they are not in the medical business. As long as a drug is safe to use then it is up to the discretion of the medical doctor to prescribe it for various situations that they are “trained to understand and know the application for”. A medical doctor has the right by law to do as they see fit to handle a patient under their care and to handle the problems the patient is experiencing. hCG has been used to treat many various health issues and has been and has been in existence to do so for over 50 years by the medical community. However, the FDA has not approved hCG Therapy to lose weight. In regards to hCG this is the FDA’s Statement: INDICATIONS AND USAGE: hCG has not been demonstrated to be effective adjunctive therapy in the treatment of obesity. There is no substantial evidence that it increases weight loss beyond that resulting from caloric restriction, that it causes a more attractive or “normal” distribution of fat or that it decreases the hunger and discomfort associated with calorie-restricted diets.

Why you need a healthy colon

A toxic colon can...

Weaken and stress your heart.
Cause skin blemishes, paleness, psoriasis, liver spots and wrinkles.
Irritate the lungs and cause bad breath.
Affect the brain, disturb mental functions and cause senility.
Cause pain and stiffness in the joints and contribute to arthritis.
Cause muscle weakness and fatigue.
Rob you of your youth, ruin your wellness and cause premature aging.
Many experts believe that all diseases begin in the colon! Not only does the decaying food produce toxic substances and provide a breeding ground for harmful bacteria, but it also blocks the intestine from absorbing good nutrients. This all leads to an unhealthy body.

Over time, your colon may become unhealthy and lose its ability to properly eliminate all the waste materials from your digestive tract. This is due to a combination of the following: Poor diet, lack of exercise, stress, drug intake, lifestyle and a variety of other factors.

When the human colon becomes less active, the body does not eliminate its waste materials as effectively. Therefore, when the elimination process is not functioning properly, deposits of waste matter build up along the wall of your colon or in the pockets of the colon.

Normally, your body pushes waste out of your colon in 16 to 24 hours. When you're not able to eliminate properly, these wastes remain in your body for days.

Even worse, if some of this waste material deposits along the colon wall, it may not leave for months or even years. Amazingly, these deposits of hardened fecal matter can get to be 2 or 3 inches thick and as hard as tire rubber.

The average healthy person who is not constipated will carry about 5-20 pounds of fecal matter in their intestines and colon at any one time. However, people who are constipated or irregular can be carrying up to 40 pounds or more of this toxic fecal matter, which is continually poisoning their body and organs.

The healthy transit time of food through our body is less than 24 hours.
The National Institute of Health published a survey that showed 4.5 million Americans are constipated most or all the time.
In the USA, over 2.5 million doctor visits per year are made by patients who complain of constipation.
80% of all disease and discomfort is related to a toxic colon - due to impacted fecal matter.

When Do You Need Internal Cleansing?

If this is the first time you've been exposed to this life-changing colon cleanse information, you've probably never considered this simple question: Are you clean inside? Of course you take care of the outside: You shower, brush your teeth and wash your hair on a regular basis, but do you clean yourself inside? In this modern, toxic world it's becoming a simple fact of life that our colon (the ‘sewer system' of the body), liver and other organs also require regular cleaning. Just like a car requires an oil change periodically.

How do you know when it's time to free your body of accumulated toxins and other waste materials with an all-natural colon cleanse? If you experience one or more of the following, then it's time to detoxify:

Frequent tiredness and low energy
Flatulence, gas & bloating
Impaired digestion
Irritability, mood swings
Bad breath & foul-smelling stools
Occasional constipation
Protruding belly ("pooch")
Powerful food cravings
Skin problems
Metallic taste in mouth
So How Do You Properly Detoxify Your Body?

Now that we know why it is crucial to cleanse and detoxify our body regularly, we have to know how to do a colon cleanse properly and thoroughly. Here's a quick overview:

First you cleanse your colon with specific herbs to clean out all the toxic plaque and debris

While cleansing the colon, you have to replenish the good bacteria that protects the flora balance, which in turn protects you as it is part of your immune system

Then as a final step, using detoxifying herbs, amino acids, vitamins and minerals, to assist you to detox your liver, blood, tissues, basically your whole body

Reducing scar formation after surgery

Preventing scars means focusing on the factors that you can control. If you have had surgery and your incision is still healing, plan on showering at least once a day if you are able.

When you are finished with your shower, gently pat your incision and allow to air dry completely before covering with a bandage or clothing.

Soap-A gentle antibacterial soap is ideal for someone healing from surgery to help prevent infection. Liquid soap may be easier to use, as it can be easily applied without a washcloth. Be sure to rinse your incision well to make sure no soap residue remains after showering.

Showering-Take care not to scrub your incision when you are in the shower. Applying a small amount of soap and rinsing it well should be adequate. Take care not to scrub the incision, which may remove scabs, slow healing and irritate the incision. While it is safe to take a regular shower, it is important not to allow the incision to be wet so long that it puckers (how your fingers do after a bath or a swim) and softens.

If your wound was closed with steri-strips or surgical glue do not scrub or use a washcloth on it. They may appear dirty, which is normal, but they should be allowed to remain in place until they fall off on their own. Just squirt some soap on top and let the water gently wash it.

Smoking: Not only does smoking increase your risk for scars, it can also slow your healing. Smoking is such a significant risk factor that many plastic surgeons will not operate on a patient if he does not quit smoking COMPLETELY for at least 2 weeks prior to surgery.

Drinking: Alcohol dehydrates both the body and skin, which decreases your overall state of health. While your wound is healing, avoid alcohol and focus on non-caffeinated beverages.

Nutrition: Eat a balanced diet with an emphasis on protein intake. Protein makes up the building blocks of healing skin, so it is essential to provide your body with adequate protein to allow your skin to heal. If you do not like eating meat, soy and whey products provide an excellent alternative as a lean protein source. I would also suggest foods with vitamin C (citrus fruits) and zinc (pecans, cashews, fortified cereals, and seafood).

Hydration: Dehydration happens when you are not taking in enough fluids. Hydration is good for your skin, and in combination with good nutrition, will provide optimum conditions for healing.

Your Weight: If you are overweight, you may be at greater risk for scarring. Why? The extra wound tension may make the scar heal wider, so it is doubly important to follow the suggestions for scar improvement.

Silicone Wound Treatment: Silicone wound dressings feel similar to a thick plastic wrap that you would use in the kitchen. Silicone, however, does not adhere to your wound, allowing it to protect your incision from stress and contamination without damaging the skin when it is removed. Studies have shown that silicone can help reduce scarring and is commonly used after plastic surgery. Discuss silicone dressings with your surgeon prior to your procedure, as the surgeon will need to apply this type of bandage.

Vitamin C oil, Vitamin E oil, Aloe Vera, Mederma, and Bio Oil are all suggestions I have given to my patients to apply to their scar to help with optimum wound healing.

Juicing for digestive health

After a juice fast, the body is more efficient. Digestion is better due to a cleaner colon. The colon walls have been cleansed of impacted feces, allowing improved absorption of nutrients. The good news is that greater efficiency equals enhanced energy. Healthy people burn more calories. They also eat less because they are more active and feel better about themselves.

But you don't have to do a juice fast. You can juice fruit and vegetables for a snack instead of having a higher calorie or difficult to digest snack. Juiced fruits and vegetables have enzymes. If you are feeling bloated after your meals, try drinking freshly juiced fruits and vegetables with your meal.

Fresh juices are a tremendous source of enzymes. In fact, the "freshness" of juice is one of their key features, because enzymes are destroyed by heat. When you eat cooked foods, whether its meal, grains, fruits, or vegetables, if the food is cooked at temperatures above 114 degrees, the enzymes have been destroyed by the heat. Since fruits and vegetables are juiced raw, the enzymes are still viable when you drink the juice.

Papayas kiwi, and pineapple contain a protein-splitting enzyme.
Also try apples, cabbage, raw honey, maple sap, and tomatoes for natural sources of enzymes.

Are you allergic to Wheat?

Wheat is now listed in the top 8 food allergens along with peanuts, tree nuts, milk, fish, shellfish, eggs and soy. Spelt is a relative of wheat that dates back to antiquity. While it contains gluten and closely resembles wheat, spelt is so easily digestible that many wheat-sensitive people find it a suitable alternative to wheat.

Healthy eating with farro

Farro is literally the first grain - the grain from which all grains have descended. Tritucum dicoccum has been growing in the Mediterranean for thousands of years and only dwindled in popularity due to its difficulty to grow and harvest.

Farro is an unhybridized, or pure form of wheat with the husk intact. It's nutty flavor and firm, chewy texture make it versatile to no end. It plays very well with other fruits of the earth like legumes and leafy vegetables. Since the outer husk adheres to the grain, the fiber & Vitamin E content is very high. One serving of farro (1/2 cup) is 100 calories and provides 4 grams of protein and 3.5 grams of fiber.

Why Your Prenatal Vitamin May Not be enough

Pregnancy is a major life event. As a mother, you want to know all there is to know about your pregnancy. I developed The Definitive Guide to Natural Pregnancy Health to help mothers take the right steps toward a healthy, natural pregnancy. There aren't a lot of resources for pregnant women looking for ways to treat their problems using orthomolecular medicine. This is a school of thought encouraging the use of vitamins, minerals, and amino acids to create balance in the body. I combine multiple resources into one easy-to-use guide, so expecting mothers can optimize their use of supplements to combat common and uncommon pregnancy ailments. I have found that prenatal vitamins, while they are a good start for any pregnancy, cannot be administered in a "cookie cutter" fashion. Women enter pregnancy having different levels of stress or medical issues that should be remedied by more or less of a particular nutrient. Many women are taking over the counter products or prescription medications before they become pregnant and question continuing these supplements for fear that they may harm the baby. The guide describes a variety of different supplements, lists common problems that I have encountered in my practice, and details the maximum amount of each supplement to be taken during a healthy pregnancy.

Female Sexual Dysfunction

Not only can eating an unhealthy diet make you fat, it can also send your sex drive crashing, as nutritional deficiencies wreak havoc with your hormones and vital organs.

Not only that but carrying too many excess pounds can kill your confidence and leave you feeling not sexy in the bedroom.

Research has found that eight out of 10 of us suffer from a diminished libido at some point.

It could be that since the kids were born just finding enough energy has been a struggle, or perhaps you’ve resigned yourselves to the fact that after a while the passion in all relationships tends to dull.

But not only is sex fun at any age or stage in a relationship, it’s also one of the best ways to reduce stress and anxiety, and a guaranteed way to burn off calories.

I know that this is a difficult topic for people to address with their practitioner. For men, there are proven remedies with scientific support widely available and covered by insurance, with commercials galore. For women... not so much.

According to an article published in the journal of the American Medical Association in 1999, 43% of women in the U.S deal with sexual dysfunction. Hormonal changes in the body are one contributing factor for loss of libido. Many prescription medications have sexual side effects and just meeting the daily stresses of life can cause anxiety and over tiredness, which in turn can diminish sexual desire.

I have had women who tried their husband's Viagra or Cialis. Some women report success, some do not. Some women respond to DHEA or testosterone implants, which elevate the sex hormone levels until they degrade in 3-6 months.

Although recent reports have apparently shown that testosterone seems to affect women's
interest in sex, their levels of male hormones -- androgens -- are not clearly tied to sexual function, according to a report in the March 2011 Journal of the American Medical Association.

It has been theorized that low androgen (testosterone) levels are, at least in part, to blame when a woman has little interest or enjoyment in sex, but supporting evidence for this notion has been lacking,
Dr. Susan R. Davis, from Monash University in Victoria, Australia, and colleagues note.

The researchers assessed sexual function and measured levels of various androgens, such as
testosterone, in 1021 randomly selected women who were free of any thyroid disorder, did not
have polycystic ovarian disease, and were not taking any psychiatric medication. A standard
questionnaire, the Profile of Female Sexual Function (PFSF), was administered to all the participants. No androgen measurement was associated with any area of the PFSF assessment, the team reports.

By contrast, a low level of dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEAS) did correlate with low sexual desire, arousal, and responsiveness.

The results contradict the idea of using testosterone to treat low sexual desire disorder, the researchers conclude.
Rather, they say that, taken together with what is already known, the results suggest that
"sex steroids influence female sexual function," but that there is no specific level of androgens in women that can be classified as a deficiency.

DHEAS levels can be elevated by the simple suplementation of USP grade DHEA. 50 mg taken twice
a day for 2 weeks had a significant effect on how 87% of women had a positive effect and increasaed levels of DHEA & DHEAS. (See Volume 774, NYAS).

Ashwagandha root is an herbal remedy from the ayurvedic tradition of India that has been used for centuries to promote strength and stamina. It is considered an "adaptogen", a term used to describe herbs that improve physical energy, increase immunity to colds and infections, and increase sexual capacity. Ashwagandha has mainly been used to restore male libido, cure impotence and increase male fertility. Recently, studies suggest that Ashwagandha is also effective in enhancing female libido. Rhodiola also combats fatigue, enhances memory, boosts the libido, regulates menstrual cycles and has been used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction and diabetes. Research by Russians began in 1931 when Rhodiola Rosea was found to increase the libido. The health benefits of pomegranate juice are widely known but researchers have recently uncovered an unexpected side effect - it can also boost male and female libido. These three ingredients are combined in Rhodigandha.

Stretch Marks... topical suggestions and omnilux light therapy

How do scars and stretch marks form?

Scars and stretch marks develop as a result of disruption of the integrity of the dermis, which is the deeper layer of skin. The appearance of scars and stretch marks is due to lack of collagen and elastin which form strong bonds in order to maintain the skin's moisture and elasticity.. Stretch marks are similar to scars in that there is pulling of the skin, leading to small linear scars, but there is no actual separation of the skin as with true scar formation. Stretch marks appear after the skin is stretched excessively such as in pregnancy, spurt of growth during puberty, rapid weight gain or weight loss, and in body builders.

How does Omnilux treat scars & stretch marks?

The Omnilux Red is used to effectively remove stretch marks and scars with the use of professional ingredients which help to regenerate the skin's cells, therefore helping to reduce the appearance of scarring. The Red lamp is used to stimulate the concentrated ingredients to penetrate deeper into the skin so faster and more effective results can be seen. The treatment can be used on all skin types, there are no side effects and is absolutely painless. You can resume to your daily activities immediately, yet be sure to wear sunblock if the area is exposed to sun.

How long does each treatment last?

Depending on the size and location of the body to be treated, between 30-60 minutes.

How many treatments are needed?

The number of treatments varies on the type of the scars or stretch marks whether they are light or deep. An average of 8-10 treatments is recommended and is done twice a week to achieve faster results.

Keys to minimizing stretch marks.
1. Limit your weight gain. If you gain a hundred pounds, no cream will help you.
2. Having a mother who has no stretch marks helps, but if you don't, see 1 and 3.
3. Keep your skin healthy and moisturized. In addition to the belly, people also notice stretch marks on their breasts, buttocks, and inner thighs. Put this everywhere.

Prenatal class

A childbirth class is a great way to prepare for labor and birth. The typical class includes weekly sessions and consists of lectures, discussion, and exercises, led by a trained childbirth instructor.
While approaches vary, the goal is to provide you with information to minimize your fears and help you make informed decisions. You'll also learn techniques to help you relax and cope.
Most hospitals offer classes, or you can take one through an independent instructor or organization. Classes range from intensive courses that begin early in pregnancy and continue through the postpartum period to one-shot refresher sessions.

However, many patients do not take prenatal classes, which is sometimes difficult due to cost or scheduling issues. I suggest to my patients that they learn the basics in the comfort of their own home, in an affordable and entertaining fashion. Click below to order DVD's online, or check your local library.

Safe and affordable Zoft Menopause Gum brings FAST RELIEF from these common menopausal symptoms:

Anxiety
Depression
Hot Flashes
Insomnia
Mood Swings
Night Sweats
Palpitations
Urinary Changes
Vaginal Dryness

Zoft Menopause Gum contains a unique scientific blend of natural and powerful Dong Quai Root, Black Cohosh Root Extract, Damiana Leaf, and Mexican Wild Yam Root. These healthful ingredients have been used for centuries by the world’s indigenous cultures to relieve the pain and stress of menopause effectively.

Black Cohosh is touted as a great reliever of many menopause symptoms, including night sweats, anxiety, and depression. The effects of Black Cohosh include the reduction of those horrible hot flashes that affect so many menopausal women. It does this by reducing the luteinizing hormone in your body that is associated with extreme temperature fluctuations. So how effective is Black Cohosh? Well, in a recent study, 80% of women who took a Black Cohosh supplement experienced a decrease in hot flashes, sweating, and heart palpitations.

Damiana Leaf acts as a natural aphrodisiac, increasing libido and overall sexual health. In addition to raising energy levels and diminishing fatigue, it stimulates weight loss and calms nerves by strengthening the nervous system. Damiana Leaf is beneficial for the reproductive organs because it balances female hormone levels, which helps to control hot flashes, night sweats, and depression.

Mexican Wild Yam Root is similar to the hormone progesterone; it relaxes muscle spasms, reduces inflammation, and increases perspiration. It is useful for gallbladder disorders, hypoglycemia, kidney stones, menopause-related symptoms, and premenstrual syndrome.

Dong Quai Root is one of the most important of the Chinese tonic herbs, used as a nourishing blood tonic to regulate the menstrual cycle. Dong Quai has been used for centuries by Asian healers to balance female hormones and to prevent the troublesome symptoms of menopause and PMS. Clinical research indicates that Dong Quai also contains antispasmodic compounds that help to relax muscle tissue. This explains the root’s effectiveness in treating menstrual cramps.

Antioxidants and infertility

Maqui/Resveratrol/Acai Ultimate

This vitamin is all natural. Most of the ingredients can be found in a variety of foods such as cranberries, grapes, and blueberries. It provides a blend of the highest quality antioxidants that are known to fight cancer, joint inflammation, and cardiovascular disease. It also has a blend of the most effective weight loss supplements and aids on the market today. Resveratrol is thought to have some estrogenic activity, so if you are dealing with hot flashes and wish to avoid hormones, it would be a good supplement. The Macqui is the highest antioxidant value of any known fruit. It helps to support healthy inflammatory functions, healthy aging system, and healthy aging.

True story about this supplement:

I had a patient who had an uneventful first delivery that I attended. Over the next four years, her cycles became less and less frequent until they disappeared altogether. She is a personal trainer, was taking prenatal vitamins, and was overall extremely healthy. Ultimately I sent her for an infertility evaluation, and they found no abnormalities. We then discussed the features of adrenal fatigue, and basically decided that due to her strenuous job and demands of marriage, motherhood, and previous pregnancy, that all of her reserves were basically depleted, and until they were restored, she may not get pregnant. I had just received Maqui/Resveratrol/Acai, which was a very powerful antioxidant formula, and advised her to try it for a couple of months while she was waiting to save the money for her infertility treatment. She took it for one month. Her menses started to return. She was pregnant one month later and is now at the end of her first trimester.
